Chris Avram

Chris is a 40 year veteran of ICT, including public service experience in computer programming applications for the scientific modelling of water resources, data processing of pollution licences and other records, operating systems, computer systems and network operations.  Chris finished his public sector employment in computer operations management.

He has private sector experience in research and development of computer and security hardware and software. He has consultancy experience with a big four firm in management of the research and development for tax concession He has university experience in lecturing, research, department management of staff, executive level management of multi campus and multinational education programs.

Chris has taken a leadership of the ICT profession in Australia as the director of the Computer Systems and Software Engineering Board of the ACS, and is a past Chairman of the Victorian State Branch Executive Committee. On the International stage, Chris represents the ACS and Australia on the general assembly of the UNESCO sponsored International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP). He is the Treasurer and member of the board of IFIP. His research strengths are in the deployment and application of network and other state of the art technologies, and the application of advanced security technologies to issues of confidentiality and privacy.
