Yohan Ramasundara

Yohan is a Graduate of the University of Canberra, a remarkable young man who is an inspiration to all young people. He fell in love with technology and decided to get in to the ICT industry by enrolling in Bachelor of IT course at University of Canberra in 1999. After graduating with ICT, accounting and finance qualifications, he now focuses his passion for business improvement and risk management, working for a Federal Government agency. Previously he was the National Manger of Assurance Services at Ecowise Environmental, Australia’s largest provider of integrated environmental consulting services at the time.

Yohan is a member of various organisations and committees particularly involved in the promotion and development of the Australian ICT industry, both nationally and internationally. Yohan is the Australian representative to the SEARCC (South East Asia Regional Computer Confederation) Executive committee. He was the Director of the ACS Young IT Professionals Board in 2007 and 2008 and the Vice Chairman of the Canberra Branch Executive from 2006 to 2009. He was highly commended in the 2007 Young Professional of the Year Award from Professions Australia recognising his contribution to the Australian ICT industry.
In recognising how vital education is to the prosperity of the industry and Australia, Yohan has volunteered thousands of hours implementing various initiatives including conferences, workshops and networking sessions for ICT professionals.

On weekends in summer he can be found, wearing his penguin outfit, umpiring Cricket. Yohan describes umpiring the Prime Ministers XI games against the touring West Indies, English, Sri Lankan and New Zealand teams as the highlights in his umpiring career to date. He is also the recipient of the prestigious gold leadership award at the annual Blues & Leadership awards for his contribution to sporting activities at University of Canberra in 2005.
